Role Overview: as a Senior VMware Engineer you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimising VMware virtualisation environments. This individual work contract-based position offers a unique chance for professional growth within a team of seasoned experts.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Architect, Design and implementation of Vmware Tanzu & PKS infrastructure in an Enterprise Environment;

• Develop and maintain an advanced kubernetes platform like TKG (Tanzu Kubernetes Grid) to manage Kubernetes clusters lifecycle;

• Hand-on experience on VMWare technologies includes TKGI, VMware Operation Manager, BUCC, Bosh, Concourse, VMware Platform Automation Tools, openpyxl, Kube-Monkey, UAA (part of TKGI and BUCC);

• Review and agree on the design parameters;

• Install management and monitoring components and hand over to Operations team;

• Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner;

• Understand container and kubernetes requirements and defining technical solutions;

• Troubleshoot and assist in the provisioning of Kubernetes infrastructure.

Required Candidate Profile:

• Engineering Degree with 8 years in IT;

• Prior experience in virtualization readiness assessment;

• Proficient in designing, implementing, and migrating/upgrading PKS, Tanzu infrastructure based on VMware;

• Strong knowledge of VMware Technologies (ESX, ESXi, vSphere, Desktop Virtualization);

• Expertise in cloud technologies;

• Ability to create architecture and design for VMware Tanzu deployment in VMware infrastructure;

• Solid experience in VMware vCenter infrastructure;

• Integration expertise of VMware Tanzu with NSX-T, Logging, Monitoring tools;

• Integration of VMware Tanzu CaaS service in vCD;

• Hands-on experience in creating Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) clusters and maintaining them;

• Implementation proficiency in Tanzu and related artifacts;

• Kubernetes expertise, including policy creation, cluster scaling, and maintenance;

• Solid understanding of general and Kubernetes networking/firewall concepts;

• Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and administering Kubernetes distributions in Virtual VMs;

• Previous hands-on experience in managing and supporting virtual infrastructure based on VMware;

• Extensive knowledge of VMware Cluster and DR environments;

• Effective written and oral communication skills in German and English.
