Our client is a dynamic entrepreneurial group operating in the publishing, toys, and educational entertainment industry, currently seeking a Commercial & Marketing Director to lead the next stage of business growth and integration.

This executive leadership role will drive the commercial acceleration of multiple business lines through the consolidation of sales and marketing functions, the development of profitable channels, the expansion of Key Account partnerships, and the coordination of strategic commercial initiatives, while sharing responsibility for the group’s consolidated financial performance.

 

Organizational Scope

The role reports directly to the Shareholder and leads a team of approximately 20 employees across four business areas:

  • Traditional B2B & International Key Accounts
  • B2C – Kindergartens & Schools
  • B2C – E-commerce
  • Marketing

The successful candidate will directly manage the directors and coordinators of each division.

 

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & Channel Development

  • Drive consolidated commercial performance across all business lines
  • Optimize the channel mix and increase the share of profitable revenue streams
  • Develop and expand Key Account partnerships, including direct involvement in strategic negotiations
  • Identify and develop new distribution channels while strengthening existing ones
  • Build a sustainable and scalable commercial model across the organization

Marketing & Brand Strategy

  • Coordinate integrated marketing strategies aligned with commercial objectives
  • Ensure consistent brand positioning across multiple business lines
  • Optimize marketing investments across offline, digital, and trade channels while monitoring ROI
  • Support product launches through integrated go-to-market strategies

Strategic Projects & Business Integration

  • Lead commercial integration and go-to-market execution for strategic growth initiatives
  • Align commercial strategy with product development and operational capabilities
  • Define priorities and execute the strategic roadmap
  • Monitor profitability and break-even performance for new initiatives

Financial Responsibility

  • Share responsibility for the consolidated P&L together with the Shareholder
  • Participate in annual budgeting and performance monitoring across channels and business lines
  • Track profitability, margins, cash flow, and inventory turnover
  • Drive improvements in return rates and operational efficiency

Leadership & Management Systems

  • Lead and align diverse commercial teams and business cultures
  • Strengthen commercial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes
  • Foster accountability, clarity, and high performance within the management team

Candidate Profile

  • 8–10+ years of commercial experience, including leadership of teams of at least 10 people
  • Strong background in multi-channel commercial environments
  • Experience managing relationships with major retail networks and negotiating annual agreements
  • Proven ownership of business unit budgets and profitability targets
  • Solid understanding of both strategic and operational marketing
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, agility, and the ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution
